WOOSH IN WOONSOCKET

It was a hot day still even though the big heatwave broke with last night's rain.  I thought about going swimming for awhile.  Actually I thought too long.  I went online and looked for which Massachusetts State Parks had swimming areas.  I finally decided to check out Douglas State Park which is about 45 miles away.

I found the park to have a lot of Spanish speaking families happily enjoying a hot Saturday afternoon at the lake.  Now I know where I can practice my Spanish.  I didn't get a chance today.  The storm clouds came in along with roaring thunder.  People high-tailed it out of there before the down pours.

I took my time getting back checking out the town and surrounding area.  The downtown is really quaint and there are so many different styles of homes from Federal to Farm, Prairie to Log and some absolutely massive properties.  I thought, "I could live there," but I would have to buy a pickup truck and a camper to fit in.

I was low on gasoline so ignored Michelle my Garmin GPS gal and went in search.  It was raining and the wind was really blowing.  Finally in Woonsocket, Rhode Island I found a gas station.  I was getting soaked filling up and I had to hold onto the gas pump hose for fear of being blown away.  GOING WOOSH IN WOONSOCKET.  Now that would have been a DO NEW for sure.  Toto, I don't think we are in Rhode island anymore.  Actually to get from where I am staying to Wallum Lake you can drive into Rhode Island then back into Massachusetts.  I lost my orientation.  Thank goodness for my GPS.

I hope you had a great DO NEW day!  Don't blow away out there.
