Ah - I am awaiting a great DO NEW dinner. Salmon Teriyaki, Japanese Spiced Rice, Asian Salad and for dessert Dave's Raspberry GOAT cheesecake (half goat and half cream cheese). It has been a wonderful last day on Olde Oak Farm. Tomorrow I head down to Bangor. I will miss it here. The people are so simpatico, the vibe relaxing, the food is just as good as the company, and can you not love nubian goats? They are lovers. My experience has been in one word SUPERB!
I did a lot of work today plus we had some visitors stop by to learn how to make FETA cheese. This gave me the opportunity to learn yet another NEW thing. First we had to herd the lady goats after their morning milking. We had to get the goats herded 1/4 mile to the end of the drive to a new piece of pasture. It required a few of us. Luckily the truck passed me going back to the cheese house and I jumped right on in. I was going to be standing for at least an hour packing yesterday's jalapeno pepper cheese. We had the guests packing lemon pepper and dill cheese right along side of me,. It was a DO NEW for them too. They loved it.
Dinner is being prepared and I need to pack my things now so that I can relax and enjoy everyone's company for the rest of the night. But before I DO I am going to try one more NEW thing. I am going to try to load a video of us herding the ladies. If it works great, if not I guess you will just have to find a goat farm and DO it yourself.
