Dark skies, thunderous booms and torrential downpours were all included in the start of this Monday. I didn't really want to go out in the rain but I hungered for some books about traveling westward. I need to start planning my next big adventure. I raced to my car dodging rain bullets and headed off to the
AMES FREE LIBRARY, another H.H. Richardson building in North Easton. Massachusetts.

I hadn't been to that library since before its major renovation. The interior was all NEW for me and absolutely gorgeous. I could have stayed in there all day but I started to fall asleep in one of the comfy chairs. All the weather changes of late have delivered unto me swollen glands. I am running a little low on fuel today. Some good books, a warm blanket and a tight roof over my head will be a good way to heal up for more work tomorrow. A little chicken soup won't hurt either.

Pulling into the library parking lot I noticed a sign for the
QUESET HOUSE located behind the main library. I asked the librarian about it. She told me that the library uses the bottom floor of the mansion for events big and small and that the top floor is rented out by a company. The rain had subsided so I decided to go and take a look around.
The gardens are in the process of being restored to when the mansion was in its hey day in the 1920's. It will be lovely when it is finished. In fact, it is lovely now even with the rain. I suggest that you go visit. I can envision me sitting out there in the not far off future, enjoying a nice day with my book finds and taking some quiet
Queset time. That is a definite NEW DO to come.
For now it is a cup of hot tea, my rag wool socks, the sofa, some classical music and a travel guide for the Southwest USA and Las Vegas. I need another book for the upper states. It might be better to travel them in summer and the southern ones in the fall. We'll see. Step one is the dreaming. A good book can help.
So here is a DO NEW for you if you don't already DO it.. Chat with a librarian. He/She is a true wealth of information. Get a library card and visit your public libraries often. They are free and FULL.
