I made it. I am in Kittery, Maine.
After leaving Massachusetts and passing through New Hampshire in
about a minute (just enough time for the state to extract $2 out of
each car on the toll road) I arrived over the border in VACATIONLAND
- aka MAINE. My GPS got me safely to my host David's place and I
was welcomed by two Cardigan Welsh Corgies, Harper and Moth. They have
tails. After settling in a bit at the house it was time to bring the pups to the
beach. Oh yes, a joyous, off-leash run-about with the sand and rocks
and waves. A wild dog-self experience indeed.
Wild dog fun, working dog responsible.
It's in the genes. Harper and Moth are herders. They run but keep
looking behind to see if their humans are herded correctly. You have
to keep an eye on humans. They can space out, get distracted, fall
out of line. And... maybe they have a stick, or a ball, or a
frisbee, or heck maybe a buoy, something/anything to chase down and
bring back. Or maybe another dog's human has one of those throwing/chasing
things. We'll just stop by and ask if we can join their game. :)
It was a lovely DO NEW with NEW friends today in NEW England's VACATIONLAND.
Whatcha DOing NEW this weekend?
