A DIDGERI 'DO NEW' DAY

What a lovely and enticingly exotic DO NEW day.  I had a lunch meetup with my colleague Greg, a marriage and family counselor who incorporates complementary techniques in his practice including sound therapy.  We met at his office in Seekonk before heading over the The Grist Mill to eat. The Old Grist Mill Tavern is by a calming and relaxing waterfall.  We broke through the chained off area to take my photo.  Being a rebel is not a big DO NEW for me.  It's intrinsic. I guess it is for Greg too.  Us therapists have a wild streak. :)

Before getting to Greg's office while driving down RT 44 in Rehoboth I passed what looked like and interesting and large shop.  I was a bit early for my meetup so I made a U-turn and ventured inside.  Cool.  The Anawan Trading Post is VERY COOL.  This is definitely a DO NEW shop of OLD cool stuff.  There is a little of this and a lot of that.  It is a curiosity shop in large scale including a pair of life size plastic horses.

There's so much to discover,  I will need to go back,  While waiting for the owner to finish with a customer I took some photos.  I could have spent hours in there and taken hundreds of photos.  What a collection of oddities.  Do you need anything to decorate your home?  How about an elephant rocking horse, a stuffed fake lion's head for over your mantle, maybe an Edison telephone machine, a microscope, some pink plaster flamingos, extra large replicas of the Blues Brothers or a sculpture of a wild bore for your boring friends that aren't doing anything NEW?  I highly suggest a visit to the shop.  I was told that everything is for sale except for Babe the Schnauzer.

Such fun but I had to go.  After lunch Greg showed me some brain tricks of the trade for clearing past stuck emotions.  One was using some cool glasses.  Perhaps he got them at the Trading Post.  It turns out my eye dominance is backward.  Should this be any surprise to people?  I will be using that technique in the future.  A hand over the eye is all you need.  You will have to get him to explain it to you.

Greg also treated me to a Tibetan Bowl Session.  I have had them before but he uses them a bit differently.  Wow I could hear the bowl that was placed on my solar plexus practically squeal like a wounded wild boar!  I think I had better take a long hike tomorrow with a meditation audio and empty my mind.  Yes, I can do that.  I can calm my mind pretty well.  In fact, there is so much rolling around in there sometimes I simply have to put the brakes on.

The other sound treat(ment) that I had the chance to experience was a short session with the didgeridoo.  If you have never tried this you should.  The sounds that come out of the didge resonate incredibly.  It felt wonderful.  Check Greg's blog out and contact him for a session.  It is an experience you don't want to miss.

Well that was a unique afternoon.  I had a DIDGERI 'DO NEW' DAY!

And what did you DO NEW today?  Let me know.  OHM.

Hi Patricia

I just love this!!! It is incredible how much you discover, taste, feel, hear and smell when you do this challenge. While visiting Pueblito Paisa in Medellin, there was what looked like an abandoned house. I probably would have just walked by it from looking at it on the outside, then I remembered your message:) I learned so much about the history and culture here just by taking the time to go inside and visit:)
