Well the UNIVERSE does provide input for your decisions. This morning I awoke before 6am needing to use the facilities. I always drink a lot of water, especially in this heatwave. Nature does have a way of calling. I got up from bed and had a massive CHARLEY HORSE in my left inner calf muscle. I am staying in a finished room in the basement so I would have to walk up the stairs to use the bathroom. Goodbye knee. The knee I had damaged walking El Camino de Santiago/THE WAY in Spain last August screamed at me. A muscle seemed to be pulled.
I was dehydrated even with drinking all that water. It happens. You need extra, extra, extra water especially with the air conditioning and dehumidifiers on in the house. My lungs had felt like I had snored all night or had swallowed a small rodent. I was dehydrated and mineral starved too resulting in a muscle spasm. I guess contra dancing was out of the question under the circumstances. Thanks UNIVERSE.
I hobbled around for awhile doing my chores, cooking my artichokes, answering my mails hoping the leg would all balance out. It didn't so it was time put my expertise as a therapist into action. I specialize in chronic pain but this knee pain was acute. Let's just try my tricks of the trade anyway. Five minutes later the pain was gone. The surrounding area is still a bit stiff so I won't be dancing tonight but the improvement is HUGE.
Simply said the area of PAIN is usually referred from another spot on your body. Find the point that releases it, massage, stimulate or just give it direct pressure for awhile and the sore spot relaxes and the PAIN reduces or disappears. In this case I used the OPPOSITE side of my painful knee. VOILA! I made a little diagram. It is crude. I am working on a teeny tiny netbook but I think it gets the "point" across.
As for the water retention (old crappy water that was not helping in hydration) my magic acupressure spot is working just fine plus as it is a point to stimulate the adrenal glands I am now full of energy. Today I am thanking the UNIVERSE for sending me my mentors and teachers along my path. They have made a world of difference in my life and in the lives of others. Anyone can learn this technique, in fact is is one of the many things that I teach internationally. It is fast, simple, sensible and right at your fingertips. Leave the ibuprofen and muscle relaxers in the medicine cabinet and go out and DO something NEW this weekend.
IT IS LUNCH TIME AND I AM GOOD TO GO AGAIN >>>>>
Have a great DO NEW DAY!
