"PRACTICALLY" PREPARED TO GO

Well it seems I have been slacking on posting but not slacking on DOing things.  I am getting prepared for my trip to the farm in West Virginia.

Sunday I felt like I was in a GROUND HOG DAY movie but not really.  It wasn't that the day kept repeating, it was just one of those days where things were not quite connecting and it was to the point of just laughing.  I did successfully DO one NEW thing.  I got my hair cut at a SUPERCUTS.  NOTE TO SELF: Never DO that again.  My bangs now look like a four year old took their blunt craft scissors to my fringe.  Definitiely no photo here.  It will grow out. Eventually.  Probably too quickly.

It was a loopy day.  I went here and there.  What should have been open (like the SHOE MUSEUM in Brockton which would have made for some great photos) was closed plus the four other places I tried to visit.  Nope - not a DO NEW day to report but since I laughed along my crazy path it was a NO PROBLEMA day.

Anyway.......... My route is now planned from MA to WV with three way points to break up the driving and see some things and meet some wonderful people.  Thanks to couchsurfing I will be hosted in CT (I know - so close but let's at least get a feel for being started and shave off 2 hours to the mid way stop of...) Lancaster, PA.  From there I go to Cumberland, MD just a few hours from my destination at the farm in Harrisville, VA.  I am excited.  The vibe is good.

And the photo above?  They are a find for me at the Dollar Tree store.  I feel in love with my new car sun shade from Ocean State Job Lot this year.  It is higher quality than the Dollar store and I use it above my dashboard.  I swear it takes 10 degrees off the heat in my car (which is super HIGH right now) and allows me to touch my steering wheel without burning my hands.  After I went up in the four seater airplane on the first day of the DO NEW CHALLENGE the pilot put fitted silver shades on all the windows.  I get it - I so GET IT.  I now have enough shades for the back window and the side windows of my car.  Will I use them all the time?  NO.  But if along my journey I need to pull over and rest in my car I can suction cup them up, crack a window and snooze.

I am a practical gypsy gal.  And frugal.  I mean come on - a buck a shade.  Life is good.

Until next time..............DO SOMETHING NEW !

Glad you got 'accomodations' Patt!! Have a wonderful trip, as I know you will. I added a DoNew to my list, pics & all, via a detour sign - saw things in my own 'backyard' that I would not have seen otherwise most likely, and it was wonderful. Take care, Maureen

Yes, budget haircuts can be an issue. I usually just cut my own bangs for the very reason you mentioned! Love the car windshield shades. We can't live without them here. I picked up one at the Dollar Store, but it just didn't hold up. Got a new one @ Auto Zone for a few bucks more, so I think I'm set for the rest of the summer. Safe travels and adventures. I look forward to more posts!
