HOMEMADE LOVE

Yesterday I awoke in Lancaster, PA and had a lovely morning with my Mennonite host family.  Anna made waffles (with love - I love the hearts) from scratch and we got a chance to do a lot of talking. I had so many questions about the Amish world.  I learned a lot and had so much fun with the kids. In fact they are so adorable I am including several photos.

I can write more about the things I learned in common and in difference between the Amish and the Mennonites in another venue, possibly a separate article.  For the DO NEW CHALLENGE I am concentrating on the NEW DO's.  (Actually I need a cup of coffee.  I just got up and haven't made my way upstairs.  I am in Cumberland, MD now with new hosts and I smell something amazing in the works up in the kitchen.  I have to get on the road in a couple of hours so wanted to take this quiet time to post the DO NEWS before I get side-tracked for the day.)

After the breakfast plates were cleared away we began on the craft project that I brought.  We balled up little pieces of tissie paper and stuck them down with white glue to make a butterfly picture.  A DO NEW for me.  So pretty.  Before I left Anna just had to show me her Family Tricycle.  How inventive.  She used paint buckets on the back for the kid-sized bucket seats.  Oh what a lovely stay in Lancaster !

By 11:30 I was off to drive to Maryland via the PA HWY, continuing down the road to new adventures and wonderful people.

Arriving in Cumberland I was greeted at a warm loving suburban home with Lydia making PIES and Marley wagging his tail.  Lydia makes PIES - I mean GREAT PIES.

We had a few hours of talking together before Tim came in from work and then we all headed out to eat.   What a wonderful couple and a great vibe!  Lydia teaches bodywork and she gave me some new ideas.  Once I get on the road today my mind will be clicking.  Right now it hasn't quite shifted up to speed.

NOTE: I am being brief again today because
  1. I have not had my coffee yet and
  2. My alarm is about to go off saying I need to get up.
  3. Plus I smell something brewing up in the kitchen.
SO THERE IT GOES - MY ALARM.  I gotta go and clean up, eat and get on the road to West Virginia.  Perhaps I can fill in more later......
In the meantime a HUGE THANKS TO ALL MY HOSTS AND ANGELS!

Ah that is what my brain and heart was waiting for......

Enjoy your DO NEW SUNDAY!  And enjoy your coffee too :0)
